Nursing Foot Care Pricing & Appointment Information

Our nursing foot care services are provided by Licensed Practical Nurses with specialized education in foot care nursing. Appointment type and pricing are based on the location of service, whether the appointment is initial or follow-up, and the complexity and time required to provide safe and appropriate care.

In-Clinic Appointments

Basic Initial Appointment — $85
Approximately 60 minutes. Includes:

  • Comprehensive intake and health history
  • Initial lower-limb and foot assessment
  • Nursing education + patient information pamphlets
  • Development of an individualized care plan
  • Basic nursing foot care treatment

Advanced Initial Appointment — $100
Approximately 60–120 minutes depending on complexity. Includes:

  • Comprehensive assessment and health history
  • Individualized care planning
  • Nursing education
  • Advanced or specialized foot care treatment
  • Additional time for more complex foot and nail conditions
  • Referrals when required

Basic Follow-Up Appointment — $75 in clinic

Advanced Follow-Up Appointment — $90 in clinic

Follow-up appointments are generally shorter because the initial assessment and care plan have already been established. A client may initially require advanced care and, as the condition improves, eventually transition to a basic appointment. This is always our goal when clinically appropriate.

In-Home Appointments — Oromocto + Fredericton Area

In-home pricing reflects the additional nursing time required for travel, transportation of equipment, vehicle loading/unloading, set-up and clean-up.

  • Basic Initial In-Home Appointment — $100
  • Basic Follow-Up In-Home Appointment — $90
  • Advanced Initial In-Home Appointment — $135
  • Advanced Follow-Up In-Home Appointment — $120

Advanced appointment pricing reflects the additional time and complexity associated with more extensive foot care needs.

Appointments outside the Oromocto/Fredericton area may have an additional travel charge based on distance, travel time, fuel and nursing time.

Nursing Home / Facility Appointments

Basic Care

  • Initial Appointment — $85 (longer due to assesssments, etc)
  • Follow-Up Appointment — $75

Advanced Care

  • Initial Appointment — $100
  • Follow-Up Appointment — $90

The appropriate appointment category is determined by the client’s assessment, treatment requirements, complexity and time needed to safely complete care.

Additional Services

  • ToeFX In-Clinic Treatment — $85 + applicable tax
  • Fingernail Care Add-On — $10

Why Initial Appointments Cost More

Every new client requires additional nursing time beyond the treatment itself. Initial appointments include assessment, health-history review, patient education, development of a care plan, identification of risk factors and referrals when appropriate.

Once an established care plan is in place, follow-up appointments are generally shorter and therefore priced accordingly.

Veterans Affairs Canada

Veterans Affairs typically* currently covers $60 per approved foot care appointment. When the cost of the selected service exceeds the amount covered by Veterans Affairs, the remaining balance is the client’s responsibility.

A receipt can be provided for the client’s out-of-pocket portion, which may be submitted to private insurance when applicable.

For example, an $85 Basic Initial In-Clinic Appointment with $60 covered by Veterans Affairs would leave a $25 client balance.

Social Development

Social Development currently covers $60 per approved appointment. Any remaining balance above the approved amount is the responsibility of the client unless otherwise arranged or authorized.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted methods include:

  • E-transfer
  • Cash
  • Debit
  • Credit card with 2.4% transaction fee applied

Receipts are provided for services and may be submitted to private insurance when eligible.

Cancellation / Missed Appointment Policy

Appointments cancelled or missed without at least 24 hours’ notice may be charged the cost of the scheduled appointment.

Because appointment times are reserved specifically for each client, adequate notice allows us the opportunity to offer that appointment to another person requiring care.

Smoke-Free Environment

For the health and safety of our nursing staff, in-home nursing services can only be provided in a smoke-free environment. If a home is identified as an active smoking environment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled to an appropriate alternative location, including the clinic. And client is responsible to pay for appointment in full as the policy has been communicated & consented to prior to arrival of the nurse.

Important Pricing Information

Appointment prices are based on the expected level of care and time required. If a client’s needs are more complex than originally booked, additional treatment time or a subsequent appointment may be required.

Our goal is to provide safe, thorough and appropriate nursing foot care while ensuring each client receives the assessment, education and individualized care needed to support their ongoing foot health.

Why Our Pricing Reflects the Standard of Care We Provide

At Jessie’s Foot Care, our pricing reflects the professional nursing care, advanced education, infection prevention practices, equipment, documentation, and sterilization standards involved in every appointment.

We are not simply providing nail trimming. You are receiving care from a Licensed Practical Nurse with additional education in Foot Care Nursing, using nursing assessment skills, clinical judgment, health-history review, patient education, care planning, documentation, and referral when appropriate.

For example- many home care companies in our area who employ LPNs and RNs often charge their clients $50-$85+/ hour + travel for an LPN and up to $100=$120+/ hour for RN.

On that note; the specialty care provided by us while considering the Infection Prevention Protocols/ Sterilization Standards we follow, and the level of compassionate/ personalized/ friendly care we provide – we price accordingly.

Our nurses bring years of healthcare experience in addition to specialized foot care education. This means we are assessing much more than the appearance of the nails or feet. We are continually considering circulation, sensation, skin integrity, risk factors, medical history, mobility, footwear, infection risk, and changes that may require further medical attention.

Infection Prevention & Sterilization

We place a very strong emphasis on infection prevention and control and follow recognized infection prevention and control standards and protocols.

Our pricing may therefore be different from providers who use less extensive methods of instrument processing, such as relying primarily on soaking or chemical disinfection.

Our sterilization and quality-assurance process includes:

  • Medical-grade reusable instruments
  • Autoclave sterilization
  • Chemical indicators and sterilization monitoring
  • Biological testing using live bacterial spores to verify sterilizer effectiveness
  • Incubation and documentation of biological indicator results
  • Detailed sterilization records
  • Instrument tracking and quality-control documentation
  • Proper cleaning, packaging, sterilization and storage of instruments
  • Maintaining instruments sterile until point of use
  • Ongoing infection prevention and control practices between clients

These processes require specialized equipment, supplies, staff time, training and extensive documentation. They are an important part of protecting both our clients and our healthcare professionals.

Our pricing reflects the level of care and safety standards we choose to maintain.

Nursing Care at Every Appointment

Every appointment is performed by a nurse who has completed additional education in Foot Care Nursing.

Our nurses use their nursing knowledge and skills throughout the appointment, including:

  • Health-history review
  • Foot and lower-limb assessment
  • Identification of potential risk factors
  • Circulation and neurological observations when indicated
  • Skin and nail assessment
  • Diabetic foot-care considerations
  • Patient education
  • Individualized care planning
  • Documentation of findings and treatment
  • Monitoring for changes between appointments
  • Referral to other healthcare professionals when appropriate

We believe clients deserve safe, knowledgeable and professional care, and our pricing is structured to support that standard.

Insurance & Third-Party Coverage

Jessie’s Foot Care is registered with major health insurance providers across Canada, and many clients may be eligible to submit nursing foot care receipts to their private insurance plan. Coverage varies between individual policies, so clients should confirm eligibility directly with their insurer.

We are also able to direct bill eligible WorkSafeNB claims when nursing foot care is approved as part of the claim.

Veterans Affairs Canada

Eligible Veterans Affairs clients are typically approved for nursing foot care benefits according to their individual authorization.

Veterans Affairs commonly provides coverage of approximately $60 per approved treatment, often for up to 12 treatments per year, depending on the individual authorization.

We can direct bill the approved Veterans Affairs portion. Any difference between the amount authorized by Veterans Affairs and our current service fee is the client’s responsibility.

Social Development / Long-Term Care Clients

Eligible Social Development long-term care clients are commonly approved for approximately six treatments per year at $60 per treatment, subject to their individual authorization.

We can direct bill the approved Social Development portion. Any remaining amount above the approved benefit is the responsibility of the client unless otherwise authorized.

Our Commitment

Our goal is not to provide the lowest-cost foot care available for this level of standard. Our goal is to provide high-quality nursing foot care using rigorous clinical, sterilization and infection-prevention standards.

We invest significantly in professional nursing education, continuing education, medical-grade equipment, sterilization technology, infection prevention, quality assurance, documentation and patient safety.

For that reason, our prices may differ from other foot care providers.

Our fees reflect the professional nursing care, safety standards, clinical expertise and level of infection prevention that go into every appointment.
